Submission Rules
Contest submissions must follow the National History Day rules for 2010 available here: http://www.nhd.org/images/uploads/2010rulebook.pdf except as noted below.
Contest Guidelines
1. GENERAL
Please note any design receiving a Scholarship Award from Sponsor, becomes the exclusive proprietary property of Green Historical Society and cannot be copied, reproduced, or given to any other parties without our expressed written permission. All such information/material supplied and/or produced shall be kept in confidence. Once a design is accepted by Green Historical Society for a Scholarship Award, Green Historical Society will own sole reproduction rights, in any medium, and you will be required to sign a copyright assignment relinquishing all right to the design(s).
2. SUBMISSIONS FOR ENTRY
Contest Participants may submit one Entry.
Contest Participants will be required to select a local history topic, conduct primary and secondary research on the topic, analyze and interpret their sources, draw a conclusion about the significance of your topic, and present their work. Contest participants are encouraged to incorporate the use of technology in all aspects of their work, especially in the presentation of their work.
The Entry must be presented by the Contest Participant in one of five ways: as a paper, an exhibit, a performance, a documentary, or a web site. All Entries must be compliant with the appropriate entry rules for the National History Day competition available at http://www.nhd.org/images/uploads/2010rulebook.pdf except where otherwise noted at http://gia.greenhistoricalsociety.com/rules.
All Entries must be presented by the respective Applicants to the public at the Green Expo held in March 2012 (date to be determined by the Green Chamber of Commerce). This presentation is mandatory but will not affect the score of the Entry.
All Entries must be presented to the Judges at a time and date to be determined by Judges and Applicant between April 2nd and April 13th. Judges will assign a score to each Entry presented during this time period to determine the Contest Winner.
